Hootsuite Certification (Week 15)

Image
Hootsuite has been an interesting dive into the world of social marketing. Prior to taking the course and going through the training, I thought that social media management and marketing was something very easy and nonchalant. Little did I know, that a lot of planning, strategizing and such go into things, even each and every post on a social network. The course was such a crazy revelation, but a welcome one at that, as it serves as an example of a career that one could think is less involved then it actually is.     As far as the exam goes, well, I wouldn't say it was the most difficult test in the world, but it again is more involved then it seems. Some questions one might be able to guess off the top of their heads if they are familiar with various social networks that exists. However, many of the questions really question your memory and understanding of the chapters and what you should have learned within the courses reading and various video le...

Gatorade Ad Analysis (Week 10)

Image
It isn't news to anyone that Covid-19 and the global pandemic has not held back in affecting everyone's lives throughout 2020 and 2021.  This could especially apply to live sports and such alike, as at the start most all sporting events that everyone was looking forward to had to be cancelled.  Something as big as that could very easily harshly affect athletes practice and adversely affect there mentality as well.  This creates an eagerness on two sides, on one hand you have athletes, with a desire to play and show their skills, and on the other, hungry, thirsting fans with a longing to see teams compete for glory.     Thankfully, as time went on, and leagues took actions to have players be tested and keep each other safe, restrictions eased, and players finally could compete once again.  Finally, athletes could go to head to head, hone their craft, and show the world what they got.  Not only that, but Gatorade could now keep...

Signal: The App No One's Heard Of (Week 9)

Image
I can't be the only one who has never heard of a little app known as Signal before right?  Well if you are like me, then prior to reading this blog, you probably don't know that Signal is actually a private messaging app, similar to that of other messaging apps like Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp, and even built in messagers like that of Instagram's and Snapchat.  It mimics these messgaing apps in the sense that it has the ability to send images, videos, gifs, voice messages, and normal text messages.  Signal also allows one to make calls, audio and video, just like the other messaging apps can as well.       If you are wondering what I personally think of this newfound messenger, well the answer is simple, I think it's boring and unneccessary.  Now when I say that, I don't mean to say that the app itslef is poorly made or has no need to exist at all in the slightest.  When I say that Signal is boring in a way, it's that it's ...

Social Media: The Good and the Bad (Week 5)

Image
(Photo by Tumisu on Pixabay )      Personally, I have been indulging in social media for about 12 years and in different ways.  My first introduction to social media was actually YouTube, as I would love to watch gaming related content on there as I still do to this day.  Watching music videos and trending content were also two activities I primarily used it for back then as well.  It wasn't until the summer of 2015 where I would finally dive into other more interpersonal social media platforms which were Facebook and Twitter.  Once I got interested in these two platforms, I would finally begin to see the good and the bad of using social media.     Social media is very good at allowing for what it is marketed as, platforms for people to express themselves.  You can post all kinds of stuff on there, from pictures of your latest vacation to Hawaii, to opionions on recent national news and such on.  A myriad of people use social media...

Hootsuite: Genius Learning Design (Week 4)

Image
(Photo by jmexclusives on Pixabay ) I definitely can't be the only one who cannot stand excessive reading in order to educate yourself right?  Well, if you are someone like me, then you might agree that Hootsuite may be one of the best examples of an efficient solution to such a boring process.  The design and way of teaching Hootsuite uses is actually one of my favorites of all time.  Within each course lies chapters that are taught and presented in video format.  The videos are not long at all, and they tell you how long each video is before you click on the lesson.  I absolutely love this structure and style of educating because let's presume, for example, that you might be short on time and aren't sure if you are gonna to be able to get through some reading that usual education methods use.  Well with the videos, knowing exactly how long each lesson is, and chapter at that, it allows you to plan your learning session out much better since you practical...

The Indefinite Tale of Me (Week 2)

Image
Greetings, my name is Lamar Lee, and I am currently 20 years old.  I was born and lived in Williamsport, Pennsylvania before moving to Wilkes-Barre at the age of 10 where I would continue to reside until late 2020 when I moved to Nanticoke.  I am currently enrolled at Luzerne County Community College in General Studies, but I plan to switch to a CIS major and earn an associate's degree.  I am currently employed at Walmart as a sales associate helping customers, keeping aisles in order, and whatever else is needed of me.     One of my biggest passions and interests have always been technology and especially video games.  I was first introduced to video games back when I was 4 years old during the time I lived in Florida with my dad  for a few months.  One day he came home with a gift that happened to be the first PlayStation.  Ironically, my father has always tends to confuse things, in this case, that would be mista...
